Everything You Need is Available for about $10

That's less than you spend on Kleenex during the school year. These are a few things that I strongly believe every teacher should have.

  1. Get with Google. Email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. (Free)
  2. Download Firefox to browse the web. Replace Internet Explorer. Your children will thank you. (Free)
  3. Download iTunes. If nothing else for the simple podcast download support. (Free)
  4. Wikispaces. This is the easiest way to begin building a website. (Free)
  5. USB drive. Also called a "thumb drive", "jump drive", "key drive". Your information begs to be portable. ($10 - $50)
  6. Del.icio.us. Del.icio.us is an online bookmarking service. Register an account, add these tools, and let your bookmarks follow you. (Free)
  7. Flickr. Share your photos. Also find Creative Commons licensed photos for your reuse at http://www.flickr.com/creativecommons. (Free)
