A checklist for teachers attending...

  • Have video to work with. Shoot a conversation with your cat if you have to.
  • Know whether you have a USB or FireWire capable camera. USB makes things very easy. FireWire often requires a PC to have a special card to get the video from the camera to computer.
  • Bring cables. Power and USB or FireWire.
  • Don't bring copyrighted music.

We'll hook your camera to your computer and begin the import process with video. Because of the typical 1:1 import time, this will need to "cook" while we discuss other issues.

  • Shoot with a plan
  • Take a variety off different angles (close ups, mid shots, long shots, etc.)
  • Start recording early and stop recording late
  • Make sure there is enough light for the subject
  • Never shoot facing the window
