Group Roles for Digital Projects

Collaboration means self-managed teams with everyone taking responsibility for the projects's process and deliversy of an exemplar final product. The entire team shares leadership, problem-solving, and any communication needed to complete the tasks identifiteid in a way that engagaes team talents while respecting differences. Each member committs to doing whatever it takes to develop a quality product. Consider assigning the following roles for individuals to take "leads" in fulfilling any and all tasks needed for this project. Being a lead does not mean doing ALL the work, but giving individuals the responsibility for tracking and coordinating tasks and ensuring the project is completely in a timely and quality manner.

Audio Technician: Locates and/or creates any ambient sounds and music needed for the project. This person needs to be proficient finding Creative Commons licensed material on the Internet and using it in audio editing software such as GarageBand or Audacity.

Graphics Technician: Locates and/or creates any images or video needed for the project. This person needs to be proficient with finding Creative Commons licensed material on the Internet and using it in inside of PhotoStory 3, GarageBand, iMovie, or MovieMaker.

Script & Storyboard Manager: Develops the script and storyboard ensureing that the personal connection in developed and integrated into their work. Also works with Audio and Graphics Technicians to develop lists of necessary images and sounds for the project.

Voice Narrator: Performs the script to voice narration while becoming proficient with voice recording hardware (iPod with Mic, desktop mic, etc) and software (Audacity, GarageBand).

Video Editor: Translates the storyboard into a final product while becoming proficient with video-editing software (iMovie, Premeire, Final Cut, MovieMaker)
